Overview

The SCA engaged Spruce to fully rebuild and modernize its business portal — a mission-critical platform that serves a wide range of audiences including business partners, suppliers, contractors, architects, parents, and students.

The SCA’s legacy portal was outdated, difficult to navigate, and not integrated with the agency’s evolving digital systems. With such a diverse and demanding user base, the Authority needed a modern, intuitive platform that could serve everyone from contractors submitting bids to parents researching school construction projects in their neighborhood.

1. Audience-Centered Information Architecture

Spruce redesigned the portal’s structure to serve multiple distinct user groups — creating clear pathways for contractors, architects, suppliers, parents, and community members to navigate directly to the content most relevant to them.

2. Systems Integration

The rebuilt portal integrates seamlessly with the SCA’s existing back-end systems, enabling real-time access to project data, contract information, and procurement opportunities across the Authority’s portfolio.

3. Training & Stakeholder Enablement

Spruce trained SCA editors and stakeholders on the new platform — ensuring the Authority has the internal capability to manage and update the portal independently, keeping content current across all sections.
